ODE TO SOCKS is a 100% Greek, slow fashion brand with socks made of high quality Greek cotton designed and produced in Athens. Drawing inspiration from poetry, Greek folklore and tradition, pop aesthetics and today’s issues, short stories are woven into comfortable and colorful socks. The brand also includes clothing and accessories, which complement the socks and altogether compose a complete distinctive image. Finally, special emphasis is given on the part of sustainability, along with upcycling projects, as well as on the environmental footprint of the production process.
At a time in my life when it was unthinkable for me to come to terms with the idea of doing a job that would make me unhappy, I began my inner journey of searching to find what work I could do that would bring me joy. So, going through various universities and workplaces I ended up in socks. It was and is something that, along with people’s paws, warms my heart. I mean they are not just socks but carriers of messages and feelings. A medium I invented so I could converse with the world.
The present finds us in our new store in Exarchia, with new goals and dreams, hoping that the neighborhood and the people there will embrace us. We are also preparing a surprise – a new product that we think will be talked about a lot! (fingers crossed that it will only be discussed positively!)
What I really dream about the brand is quite personal. I don’t even know if I can describe it in words. How can you describe a feeling? I would like the company to bloom more and more as time goes by, but until the point that it will keep its color, its smell and its freshness forever. I have seen many companies growing and somehow losing the spontaneity and joy they had in the beginning. So, in conclusion, I would like the brand to travel as far as it can go!
